[Hey Dean. I haven't posted in a while. If you start to read this post, you might want to check out the previous post for better content.]
Whoa! The email post is pretty cool! I’m diggin’ it, but guess what? I was just browsing my home page with the new post, and I discovered that yet another person has switched from Radio Userland–Michael Boyink.
“I bailed on Radio - I even host my own site and I still wasn’t happy with the inflexibility of the product, confusing underpinnings, lack of a developed community, unanswered technical issues (eating memory in XP), lack of control/alert to comments being posted…all this to say if referring info is that important it’s time to move this blog over to a domain you have more control over…;)”
I’m not ready to drop Radio yet, especially since I paid for it, and it does some neat things with XML, web services, and other things. I’m planning on doing some integration with it here in the near future.
However, MovableType, blosxom, and Slash are on my radar, as well as content management using the ASP.NET IBuySpy portal architecture. I plan to run at least one of these systems in addition to my Radio weblog. Here’s hoping I can get some readers back since I haven’t posted in *forever*.
Update: When I tried the Mail-to-Weblog feature using a message from Microsoft Outlook (the last one was from my webmail client), the message was posted without line breaks. Yuck! I wonder if this can be fixed by setting a format preference of plain text for messages sent to my special Radio email account.
