"Textile is getting pretty close to what I had hoped it would be: a place to simply write and not think much about code, and get valid markup in the bargain. " [Textism]

Here is an interesting tool that seems useful enough for simple online publishing.  However, it seems (though likely very easy, I'm sure) to have yet-another-special-syntax-to-learn.  Bah!  Well, I'm recording it for what it's worth and I hope to come back and learn more about it!

Textism.  My latests entry into my bloated subscription list.  The author seems a bit cynical in tone.  I admire that. ;-)

Just visited the Movable Type website.  Interesting...They have some nice features to offer, but its dependence on Perl and MySQL is ponderous.  That would seem to limit its penetration into broader user bases.  Time changes many things, though, so we will see.

I would download it, but I have other things to work on.

Franklin Covey PlanPlus quote for today:

"All those who wander are not lost."
-J. R. R. Tolkien

Maybe there is hope for me in all my wandering...

OK, that's it!  I have yet to post anything on the XAG / Redemption Project page of any incredible value.  Rather, I have only marked out a place for it and done nothing else.

Here's a resource: International Conference on Computing in Missions (http://www.iccm.org  or http://www.gospelcom.net/iccm/.  They are connected with Taylor University near Fort Wayne, Indiana and meet once a year (usually in May/June) to communicate with other members, hold seminars, etc.  There is a Yahoo! Groups page for ICCM that you might be interested in lurking on for more information and flavor.

There are quite a few folks on here that have ministries and/or "extra-curricular" (not their day job) type activities that use computers related to missions work.
